Open seasonally, from November 1st to February 28, when the temperatures drop and our local shelters are full the warming centers will open. The two churches hosting the warming centers are working together this year. The temperature will determine who is open.
New Beginnings Chapel- will open its doors at 25 degrees to men and women 18 and older. They are located at 822 W Main St, Walla Walla, WA. Check in will begin at 7p.m. and guests will need to be checked out by 7a.m. New Beginnings Chapel can host 30 guests per night. When the temperature drops to 20 degrees, New Beginnings will close and the First Congregational Church will open.
First Congregational Church- will host the Emergency Winter Center this year. They are located at 73 South Palouse St, Walla Walla, WA. When the temperature drops to 20 degrees the doors will open to men and women 18 and older. Check in will begin at 7p.m. and guests will need to be checked out by 7a.m. The Emergency Center provides room for roughly 60 guests per night. When the temperature rises above 20 degrees New Beginnings Chapel will reopen.
